Del Martin and Phyllis Lyon, partners in love and political struggle for more than 50 years, are recognized as founders of the modern lesbian civil rights movement. They continued making history as the first same-sex couple to be married officially in San Francisco in February, 2004. The story of their lives traces the emergence of lesbians from the fear of discovery to an expectation of equality. This 57-minute film reveals their inspiring public activism as well as their charming and very funny private relationship.
